Louis Daniel Dwight



Louis was born in Decatur, MI, March 5, 1873 from Austin Erskine Dwight and Hester Ann Hosselkus. He married Carrie Adelpha Dobson March 23, 1895 in Ann Arbor, MI. Together they had 3 children listed below:

Marjorie Priscilla (twin), born in Ann Arbor, MI, May 16, 1896.

Dorothy (twin), born in Ann Arbor, MI, May 16, 1896 and died May 22, 1896.
Paul Erskine, born in Volinia, Cass Co., MI, December 17, 1900 and died April 13, 1972 or 1977


Louis and Carrie were graduates of the Decatur High School. He attended the University of Michigan four years and then taught in the public schools of Michigan for eight years. They moved to Dubuque, IA, in 1904. He was employed at Union Electric Company for four years. He passed the civil examination and was appointed to the position of electrician in the United States Post Office in San Fransisco, CA, in 1908. He held that position three years. He then resigned and moved to a ranch he had purchased at Los Gatos, CA.
