Bert Carter Hosselkus Sr.



Bert Carter Hosselkus Sr. was born in Bushnell, IL on February 6, 1872 from John Jay Hosselkus and Eugena Hicks. He married Anna Gardner June 15, 1895 in Creede, CO.

He later married Alice Pearl Tefft in Creede CO in 1899. Together they had 7 children. The first child died as an infant.

There is a book out as of May 2000, called "Crusaders for Wildlife". The author is Glen Hinshaw. The book is about the environment as a whole and it touches on wildlife and fisheries in southwestern Colorado. Bert Carter Sr. is mentioned in the book and played a role as an evnironmentalist in the early 1900's.

Bert Sr passed away June 2, 1943
